Q) I’VE applied for Medicaid in December through dc health link and I was approved for assistance but I have yet to receive my Medicaid information
A) Congratulations on being approved for Medicaid! It can take a few weeks to receive your Medicaid card in the mail. You can check the status of your application online or by calling DC Health Link.
Here are some things to keep in mind while you’re waiting for your card:
- You can use your approval letter to show your doctor that you’re eligible for Medicaid.
- You can also call your doctor’s office and let them know that you’ve been approved for Medicaid.
- If you need to see a doctor before you receive your card, you may be able to get a free or low-cost visit at a community health center.
