I am about 23 weeks pregnant, quit my job due to health complications, need to apply for medicaid ASAP

Q) My name is Heather. I am about 23 weeks pregnant and haven’t been to the doctor yet due to not having any income, insurance or transportation. I was forced to quit my job due to health complications during the earlier weeks of my pregnancy and planned to get an abortion but finances disallowed me that option. Now that I’m too far along for an abortion and must carry the child to term, I am in need of assistance. I don’t have a phone to call on but I can text from phone number 8*******681 or can be reached via email at i**********r0@gmail.com. I no longer have a form of transportation as of yesterday morning so I’m limited on travel. Will you please contact me so that I may apply for medicaid service ASAP? I’m due on January 21, 2016 so I’m limited on time as well. Thank you. respectfully heather

A) I understand that you are in a difficult situation. Being pregnant and unemployed can be stressful, and it is important to have health insurance to cover the costs of prenatal care and delivery.

The good news is that you may be eligible for Medicaid. Medicaid is a government program that provides health insurance to low-income individuals and families. The eligibility requirements for Medicaid vary from state to state, but you may be eligible if your income is below a certain level.

To apply for Medicaid, you can go to your state’s Medicaid website or call your state’s Medicaid hotline. You can also apply for Medicaid in person at your local Department of Human Services office.

When you apply for Medicaid, you will need to provide information about your income, household size, and other factors. You will also need to provide proof of your identity and residency.

If you are approved for Medicaid, you will receive a card in the mail that you can use to get health care services. Medicaid covers a wide range of health care services, including doctor’s visits, hospital stays, and prescription drugs.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
