I need to make an appointment to talk to someone about my GA Medicaid. I applied on line but haven’t heard anything, i did reapply today 7/31/2023. I have Obama care insurance. My husband is very sick, diabetes, diabetic retinopathy, stage 4 liver disease, afib. His eye doctor has stopped taking Cigna and his nephrologist has stopped taking this insurance as well. He has been trying to get disability for over 2 years. I was in an accident last year July 1, 2022. Also still waiting for disability. with no income and now insurance failing we need help asap. Please we’ve lost all of our saving our car if not for our son, our home. Desperate!!!
I’m sorry to hear about your situation. I can imagine how stressful and frustrating it must be for you and your husband. You have done the right thing by applying for GA Medicaid online. However, it may take some time for your application to be processed and approved. According to the Georgia Medicaid website, you can check the status of your application by logging into your Georgia Gateway account or calling the Customer Service at (877) 423-4746. You can also contact them by email at contactus@dch.ga.gov.
If you need urgent medical care, you may be eligible for emergency Medicaid services. Emergency Medicaid is a program that covers medical costs for certain non-citizens who have a medical emergency and meet other eligibility criteria. To apply for emergency Medicaid, you will need to fill out a paper application and submit it to your local DFCS office or fax it to (877) 423-5938. You can find the paper application and more information on the Georgia Gateway website.
I hope this information helps you and your husband get the health care you need. I wish you both the best of luck and a speedy recovery. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. I’m here to help.
