I’m just trying to apply for Medicaid I should be able to get it due to my SSDI a month is only 825 a month and they are taking 170 out for Medicare part B your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated thank you and God Bless
I understand your situation and I’m happy to help in any way I can with your Medicaid application. You’re absolutely right, your income may qualify you for Medicaid based on your SSDI of $825 after the Medicare Part B deduction. Here’s what you can do:
Applying for Medicaid:
Contact your local Medicaid agency: Find the contact information for your county’s Medicaid agency through the Georgia Department of Human Services website: https://dhs.georgia.gov/. They can provide specific guidance and applications based on your location.
Apply online: Georgia offers online applications through the Gateway portal: https://m.gateway.ga.gov/. This can be a quick and convenient option, and you can track your application status through the portal.
Apply by phone: You can call the Georgia Medicaid Customer Contact Center at 1-877-423-4746 to apply over the phone. This may be helpful if you need assistance with the application process.
Apply in person: If you prefer, you can visit your local DFCS office and apply in person. Make sure to call ahead to confirm office hours and availability.
Required documents:
Gather the following documents to support your application:
Proof of identity (e.g., driver’s license, Social Security card)
Proof of residency (e.g., utility bill, lease agreement)
Proof of income (e.g., SSDI award letter, bank statements)
Proof of Medicare Part B enrollment
Additional resources:
Georgia Medicaid website: https://medicaid.georgia.gov/
Georgia Gateway portal: https://m.gateway.ga.gov/
Social Security Administration website: https://www.ssa.gov/
Remember:
The application process can take several weeks, so be patient and follow up with your local Medicaid agency if you haven’t heard back after a reasonable amount of time.
You may be eligible for other government benefits in addition to Medicaid, such as SNAP (food stamps). Ask your local agency about all available programs.
I hope this information helps you navigate the Medicaid application process successfully. I’m sending you best wishes and blessings for a positive outcome.
