Did I hear there is open enrollment for Medicaid?
With the new health care law significant changes to Medicaid and CHIP will take effect on January 1, 2014. You may well qualify after January 1, 2014. In the mean time I recommend you inquire on the new requirements for your state that will take effect at that time and apply for medicaid. If you cannot wait due to your condition please seek out free community medical clinics in your area.
