i have medicare and medicaid from another state. if i move here to jacksonville, ark. will i still have both.
Not necessarily. When you move to a new state, you need to apply for Medicaid in that state. Your Medicare will still be valid, but you will need to make sure that your doctors are in-network with Arkansas Medicaid. You can find a list of in-network doctors on the Arkansas Department of Human Services website.
If you are eligible for Medicaid in Arkansas, you will be able to keep your Medicare. However, you may have to pay a premium for your Medicaid coverage. The amount of the premium will depend on your income.
You can apply for Medicaid in Arkansas online, by mail, or in person at a local DHS office. You will need to provide proof of your income, residency, and citizenship or legal residency.
If you have any questions about your Medicare or Medicaid coverage, you can contact the Arkansas Department of Human Services at (800) 482-8957.
Here are some additional things to keep in mind when moving to a new state with Medicare and Medicaid:
You may need to change your Medicare Part D plan. Your current plan may not be available in your new state.
You may need to find a new doctor. Your current doctor may not be in-network with Medicaid in your new state.
You may need to pay a premium for Medicaid. The amount of the premium will depend on your income.
It is important to do your research and plan ahead when moving to a new state with Medicare and Medicaid. By doing so, you can ensure that you have continued access to affordable healthcare.
