The DeValls Bluff AR Medicaid – Food Stamp – Welfare Office, also known as Prairie DHS, provides a variety of services to assist individuals and families in need.
Health Care Services: The office provides health care services through Medicaid, ARKids, TEFRA, and other categories of Medicaid. Medicaid covers nursing home care for individuals who meet both medical needs and financial criteria, a service known as Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS). Additionally, ARChoices in Home Care and Independent Choices programs offer services such as attendant care, home-delivered meals, personal emergency response systems, adult day services, and respite care.
Food Assistance: The office also offers food assistance through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). This program provides food assistance to eligible households to cover a portion of a household’s food budget. Benefits are distributed through an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, and can be used to purchase eligible food items for home consumption.
Cash and Other Supports: The Transitional Employment Assistance (TEA) program provides cash and other supports.
Child Care Assistance: The office also manages child care assistance programs, providing support to families who need help covering the cost of child care.
Applications for most of these public assistance programs can be made online at Access.Arkansas.gov. After filling out the application, it, along with any other needed documents, should be submitted to the local county office.
