How do I go about getting transferred to Medicaid in Missouri?

Q) My son & I are moving to Richmond, Missouri. My son has SSI and receives health care through Georgia Medicaid now. How do I go about getting him transferred to Medicaid in Missouri–Likewise for food stamps. Where do I get a list of psychiatrists and family practice physicians who accept Medicaid; preferably in or near Richmond.
Thank You for your response

A) When you move to Missouri, you will need to apply for Medicaid and food stamp benefits in your new state. Each state has its own Medicaid program, so you cannot simply transfer your Medicaid coverage from Georgia to Missouri. You can apply for Medicaid in Missouri by visiting the Missouri Department of Social Services website or by contacting the local Division of Family Services (DFS) office in your area.

To apply for food stamp benefits, you can also visit the Missouri Department of Social Services website or contact the local DFS office in your area. You will need to provide documentation of your income, assets, and expenses to determine your eligibility for both Medicaid and food stamps.

To find psychiatrists and family practice physicians who accept Medicaid in or near Richmond, Missouri, you can use the “Find a Provider” tool on the Missouri Medicaid website. This tool allows you to search for providers by location and type of service. You can also contact the Missouri Medicaid Customer Service Center for assistance in finding a provider.

It’s important to note that Medicaid coverage and benefits may vary by state, so you should review the specific Medicaid program in Missouri to understand what services are covered and what requirements you must meet to receive benefits.
