If I apply for Disability is there any way to get help with medicaid while being approved?

Q) If I apply for Disability is there any way to get help with medicaid while being approved?? I am going blind in one eye and they have diagnosed me with Multiple Sclerosis and it. Started in my eye and vision will never get better in that eye and understand the disease can progress so can’t really work. Also need insurance and have had to quit job and can’t drive now and my good eye, Vision is 20/70. The Neurologist said to get Disability and insurance because I need medicines and maybe health assistant when have episodes.

A) According to HealthCare.gov – If you get Social Security Disability Income (SSDI), you probably have Medicare or are in a 24-month waiting period before it starts. You have options in either case.

If you get Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) and have Medicare
You’re considered covered under the health care law and don’t have to pay the penalty that people without coverage must pay.
You can’t enroll in a Marketplace plan to replace or supplement your Medicare coverage.

One exception: If you enrolled in a Marketplace plan before getting Medicare, you can keep your Marketplace plan as supplemental insurance when you enroll in Medicare. But if you do this, you’ll lose any premium tax credits and other savings for your Marketplace plan.
