A) Medicaid is a joint federal and state program, and each state operates its own program within certain guidelines set by the federal government. Therefore, coverage and benefits can vary from state to state.
As of my knowledge cutoff date in 2021, Medicaid in Texas does not cover claims outside the state of Texas. So, if you are a resident of Texas and have received medical treatment in Mississippi, Medicaid in Texas would not cover your claims in Mississippi.
It’s worth noting that there are some situations where a state may have a reciprocity agreement with another state, which allows for coverage of medical treatment received in the other state, but this is not a common practice.
It’s important to check with your insurance provider or the Medicaid office of the state where you received the medical treatment to see what the coverage options are.
